It was a night where Celtic felt close to securing a result in Germany against RB Leipzig, but ultimately came away with nothing to show for it.

Equalising after just two minutes in the second-half through Jota, Celtic looked to be on the verge of getting a positive result to boost the chances of qualifying for Europe post-Christmas.

However, two goals from RB Leipzig dampened those ambitions for the time being and Greg Taylor, who played the full 90 minutes, was disappointed to leave with zero points.

Speaking after the final whistle, he said: “In the first-half half we were right in the game with some big chances, then we lose a goal from a counter-attack from a corner, OK it happens.

“We were building momentum and Kyogo has a header and it’s a good save from the keeper but that can happen, you can get countered at the best level of world football.

'We were right in the game and get a goal back, a great goal by Jota, and that’s the disappointing part that we were right in that game.'

“It’s easy to come out here and say we were disappointed but it’s not good enough, we need to show we belong at this level because the club does.

“We’re a good team and we need to show that we can play. At points in the game, we did it but we need to do it for longer.”

Such is the schedule for Celtic that it’s a quick turnaround to face St Johnstone in the league away on Saturday before welcoming RB Leipzig to Celtic Park on Tuesday.

For Taylor, the focus now shifts on making sure the team bounce back on the weekend and then try and reverse tonight’s result when the Bundesliga side head to Glasgow.

He added: “In football, you can’t dwell on these things and we have a game on Saturday that we need to show a reaction to and go out and play our football to a high level and get the result.

“Hopefully when we’ve done that Tuesday will take care of itself and we’ll be bigger and better.”
