Celtic FC Women sparkled in the Paradise sunshine as they delivered an impressive performance and a 4-0 victory over Hibernian in front of thousands of delighted Hoops fans.

Celtic got off to the perfect start with a goal inside the first 60 seconds. Clarissa Larisey, who was impressive throughout the match, latched on to a ball some 35 yards from goal and surged past one defender, flicked it over the head of another and then, controlling the ball inside the area, steered it beyond the Hibs keeper and into the net.

It was a superb start for Fran Alonso’s side, and they never looked back from that moment on. The Hoops continued to push forward at every opportunity, and Larisey came close to adding a second on 12 minutes after being set up by Shen Mengyu, but she was denied by the keeper.

And on the rare moments when Hibs attacked, Lisa Kerr in the Celtic goal was equal to the task.

On 25 minutes, Celtic made it 2-0. Jacynta did well to regain possession out wide and then drove towards goal before supplying the ball for Liv Chance to knock the ball home.

Just over 10 minutes later, Chloe Craig came close with a header from a Sarah Harkes free-kick, but her header went just wide. And just before half-time, Jacynta set up Shen for a chance, but she was crowded out by the Hibs defence.

The second-half continued in a similar pattern to the first 45 minutes, with Celtic on the front foot and looking to add to their goals tally.

And Chloe Craig almost produced a stunning goal on 51 minutes, hitting a 30-yard shot that the Hibs goalkeeper did well to tip over the bar.

But from the resulting corner, the Hoops did find the back of the net. Harkes delivered a superb cross into the six-yard box and Jodie Bartle did well to direct her header beyond the keeper to make it 3-0.
