Speaking ahead of the SWPL 1 fixture, defender Caitlin Hayes described how special the occasion is for her and the team.

She said: “It’s one of those things you can’t really put into words… to play on this pitch, to play in that strip. Hopefully there will be girls in the crowd that see us and think ‘I want to do that one day.’ We’ll leave the game in a better place than we found it and it’ll be up to them to take over.”

First-team player Anthony Ralston also recognises the impact that this fixture could have on inspiring the next generation, and said: “For young girls to come and see the Celtic Women’s team, it could inspire them to know that that’s a path they could go down…the more support that come out the better.”
