Celtic FC Foundation, the charitable arm of Celtic Football Club is delighted to make another significant donation of £7,000 to fund this year’s Taxis Outing to Troon for hundreds of very deserving children.

The event has run for well over 70 years now and is one of the city’s best known charitable occasions. Celtic has enjoyed an association with the charity and the event for more than 20 years, donating around £170,000 during this time.

The colourful convoy of hundreds of black cabs departed from the West End of Glasgow today (Wednesday) and set off for Troon in Ayrshire once more hundreds of children will enjoy a fun-packed day at the coast.

Jim Buchanan, of the Taxis Outing Fund said: “We are so grateful to Celtic for all they continue to do for us and the huge donation we have received is again crucial to delivering this really important event.

“The kids and the families we help are all tackling different challenges in their lives and the Outing for so many years now has served real purpose in giving so many people in need a real lift.

“The Pandemic has unfortunately interrupted the outing but we are delighted to be back this year with a bang and we know our guests today will all have a great day out.

“We thank everyone at Celtic for such generous continued support.”

Celtic Ambassador, Tom Boyd who presented today’s donation on behalf of the club said: “Everyone at Celtic feels privileged to have enjoyed such a long and close association with the Taxis Outing, it is a fantastic event which brings so much joy to so many deserving children and their families.

“We are delighted to give our support again and we are sure it will be a great experience for those who are currently facing so many challenges.”
