The Celtic B team suffered a defeat in their second Lowland League game of the season, losing 1-0 away to Berwick Rangers.

The only goal of the game came after just two minutes when Lewis Allan netted for the home side after intercepting a pass from the Celtic defence.

That early goal gave Berwick the impetus to keep attacking, and they created a couple of opportunities, one which Tobi Oluwayemi saved and another which Ewan Otoo blocked with a timely deflection.

With nearly 25 minutes gone, Johnny Kenny had an opportunity with a free-kick, but it went over, while just after the hour mark, Rocco Vata made a run down the right flank before firing a shot on target, but it was saved by the Berwick goalkeeper.

Into the second half, and Lewis Allan had a chance on 54 minutes for his second goal of the game with a shot from inside the box, but Oluwayemi was well-positioned to save the effort.

The Hoops began to gain control of the game and were dominating possession without being able to carve out any clear-cut chances, and their task became even tougher when Tsoanelo Letsosa was shown a red card in the aftermath of an incident which saw Steven Anderson go down with an injury.

The home side managed to see the game out, leaving the young Hoops disappointed at the 1-0 defeat. Next up is an away game against Spartans this Saturday.
