Celtic won’t change their approach to Thursday night’s Europa Conference League tie with Bodø/Glimt, though for anyone who has watched the Hoops this season, that won’t come as a surprise.

Ange Postecoglou has a clear idea of how he wants his side to play, and regardless of the game or the opposition, his Celtic team will go out and try to play their style of football, which is what they do every week.

It has proved fruitful so far this season, with the League Cup already safely ensconced in the Celtic Park trophy cabinet, a three-point lead established at the top of the Premiership and European football after Christmas delivered.

To maintain their participation in Europe, of course, the Hoops will have to overturn a 3-1 first-leg deficit, and the team go into Thursday night’s game in Norway confident that they can do just that.

Speaking at Lennoxtown today, the Celtic manager said: “The whole reason I’m trying to build a way of playing for this football club, and my beliefs, is so that we don’t have to change our approach because what we know is that we need goals and that’s what we do every week.

"It would be a bigger challenge if we had to change our approach and become more expansive or more aggressive.

“I don’t think anyone could accuse us of not being that on a weekly basis, so from that perspective, it doesn’t really change anything for us.

'We’ve just got to go out there and do what we try and do every week when we play and that is – be aggressive, dominate the game, create chances and score goals. So our approach will be exactly the same.'

Celtic go into the game on the back of a 3-2 league win at home to Dundee at the weekend, with Giorgos Giakoumakis scoring a hat-trick for the Hoops.

But the expectation for goals does not rest solely on the Greek striker’s shoulders. With 101 competitive goals already scored by Ange Postecoglou’s Celtic side this season, it’s clear that the responsibility for hitting the back for the net is shared out amongst the team.

“Our approach has always been that we get goals from multiple avenues. He scored three goals but over the whole season, our goals have been shared around and that’s going to be the key tomorrow. It’s not going to be just about one person.

“The reason we score so many goals is that we’ve got multiple avenues of goal threat and that’ll be our approach again tomorrow because that’s our approach every week.”
