With goalkeeping being quite a lonely position, Vincenti - who is also eligible to play for the Maltese national team – said the Celtc keepers and coach Kris Scullion have helped her settle into the squad with ease.

“The goalkeepers are definitely a tight unit and everyone wants each other to do well,” the 26-year-old said.

When she was just 14, Anna had to decide on what sport was going to be her main focus, skiing or football.

“I got invited to go over to Team GB camps and stuff and was also playing for Hibs at the time,” she explained.

'There was one day where I had a Scottish Cup final and it was also the British Championships and I said to my Dad, ‘I want to go skiing'.'

Sustaining a lot of injuries out on the ski slopes, the cross-over athlete then took up boxing, but is now back to doing one of her favourite sports, football.

The keeper said she’s grateful that she’s been able to pick back up where she left off in the game, having maintained her strength and fitness throughout all sporting disciplines.

“From all of the other sports, obviously there’s different aspects of strength so I feel like I’m kind of pulling everything together, and this is an amazing opportunity,” she added.
