Celtic FC Women are back in league action this Sunday (Feb 20), as they take on Hearts at the Penny Cars Stadium (KO: 2pm).

The last time the two sides went head to head, the Ghirls brought home three points and a clean sheet from the capital, as Charlie Wellings, Jacynta and Kathleen McGovern all managed to find the back of the net, putting the Hoops up 3-0 by half-time.

The Edinburgh side come to the Penny Cars Stadium in good form, with two recent wins as well as progressing to the quarter-finals of the Scottish Cup.

Celtic manager Fran Alonso recognises it will be a challenge but he is confident in his team, saying: “They will make things very difficult for us, but we will try to win the game.”

After knocking Rangers out of the Scottish Cup last weekend with a 2-1 derby victory, the Ghirls are hungry for more success and the Hoops will be looking for all three points as they continue to fight for a top-two spot and Champions League qualification.

With Chloe Logan injured and Rachael Johnstone on international duty, Sunday will also see the home debut of recent signing, Anna Vincenti. The new goalkeeper, who used to be a professional freestyle skier, is set to add even more strength to the team’s goalkeeping department.
