If Ange Postecoglou’s players were the orchestra last night, the Celtic Park crowd were most certainly the conductors.

Ask supporters where the praise lies for the 3-0 win over Rangers on Wednesday night and most will point to the manager and the players on the pitch.

But when Ange Postecoglou was asked for his reflections on the 90 minutes he made sure to pay a tribute to the fans for providing the energy to help urge his team over the line.

59,077 Celtic supporters were packed into Paradise, each voice helping to add an extra notch onto the decibel levels to create a circular wall of thunderous noise.

The atmosphere started well before kick off and reached levels of fever pitch as the player’s entered centre stage and took their bow in the captain’s huddle under the gaze of the light show.

Met by a chorus of You’ll Never Walk Alone, it was the tone-setter for a stirring night of adrenaline-fueled football.

As the goals came flooding in during the first half, the partisan Paradise crowd welcomed each with rasping joy, reminding everyone of the unrivalled passion that the Hoops fans show towards the team.

With it being the first Glasgow Derby at Celtic Park in front of the Hoops’ faithful since December 2019, when the curtain fell on the evening’s entertainment, it marked a superb night for all of a Celtic persuasion.

There’s a lyric in the Oasis song ‘Roll With It’ that blazed out the speakers at full time that goes, 'it’s all too much for me to take’.

That line will most likely sum up the overall emotions of a perfect night of football for the fans in Celtic Park.
