Liv Chance is looking to finish 2022 with a win, as the Hoops aim to continue their impressive form with another strong performance against Motherwell this Sunday (December 18).

It's the last fixture of the year for the Celtic FC Women's team, and they're targeting a strong performance at the Excelsior Stadium against a side they defeated 8-0 back in August.

Celtic go into the game on the back of a magnificent 7-0 win against Dundee United and boast an impressive clean-sheet record of 11 out of 12 SWPL matches this season, and the defensive work to ensure the forwards can play with freedom is paramount in keeping the momentum rolling.

Speaking ahead of the game, the midfielder said: "We can always take the positives from the last game but it's also about consistency, and in the last couple of games I think we have really stepped on and we’re playing better as a team so hopefully we can show that this weekend.

“It's massive for the whole team but especially for the defensive unit and the goalkeepers.

'They want to keep clean-sheets, and if we’re scoring goals and not conceding, then we’re winning games, so the more important thing is that we can keep a clean-sheet so we can let the attackers score goals and have fun.'

With a successful 2022 for club and country nearly behind her, and the huge occasion of a home World Cup with New Zealand coming up, Liv Chance did take a moment to reflect on her success with the Hoops and the Ferns, but reiterated the need to maintain concentration and secure the final three points before the New Year.

“I think 2022 was an important year both for the club and me personally with the national team," she said.

"It’s been a really busy year and we’ve had a lot of intentional breaks, but I’m looking forward to the break, but I’m really happy with what we’ve achieved at Celtic. There’s been two Cups last season and I really hope we can have that same success next year.

“We can’t really think about the break right now. It’s obviously in the back of your mind, but the focus is on this weekend and getting that done. Even over the Christmas break you’re mentally switching off, but physically you need to keep yourself ticking over."
