Speaking ahead of the game, he said: “We know it’s a big game but our mentality as a team is that we don’t treat it any differently to any other game.

“We’ve prepared well and trained well, we’re in a good place as a team and we’re looking forward to it. We know the focus is three points and we don’t look to the next game until the one at the weekend is over.

'We don’t focus on this game as the outcome of the season, we focus on it as three points to help us towards what we want to achieve by the end of the season.'

“We then have games after that which we take the same mentality into.”

The last derby meeting at Celtic Park was the electric 3-0 win back in February, and since then the Celts have remained undefeated in the league, earning another three points at Ibrox in April.

Both games have brought with them opportunities to learn and develop, but if there’s one thing Ralston doesn’t need to understand is the impact the Celtic fans will have come Sunday.

He added: “Celtic Park, full crowd, there’s not much better than that.

'We’re looking forward to playing in front of the best fans in the world, so we can’t complain.'

“It’s a game both sides want to win but we take all the craziness out of it and focus on our football and we don’t let the noise of it get involved.

“We’ve analysed the last game, we’ve moved on and had a game since then and it put us back on track. We’re all in a good place physically and mentally and we’re ready to go for the weekend.”
