“It was bittersweet, it was an amazing moment and the feeling when that goal went in, it was like nothing I had felt in my career but it still hurts and was unfortunate that we couldn’t get the result to top off the day.

“With football, you have to move your focus to the next game and that’s what we’ve done.

'We’ve got five big league games to go now and we need to finish with five strong performances.'

“We know what’s at stake come the end of that, so we understand what’s needed and it’s about regaining focus and knowing how well we’ve done so far but there’s still a job at hand.”

This Sunday it’s a trip to the Highlands to face Ross County in the league in the first of five post-split fixtures.

The last time out, Taylor watched from the bench as Anthony Ralston produced a 97^th-minute winner and he knows it will be another tough test this weekend.

He added: “It was a sticky game, Ross County have had a great season, they have quick attacking players and are resolute in defence so they’ve done well and have got top six.

“It was a tight game on the night and when it gets that late you’re pushing hard and we were down to 10 men.

“Tom Rogic managed to stand it up to the back stick and you know when Anthony got there, there was only one man winning that header

“You look back on those games but you can’t really take a lot from it because it will be a different game.

'We know we need to be at it and show we can bounce back from Sunday.'

“We’ve shown that throughout the season when we’ve had a disappointing result like the semi-final was, so we need to show what we are about so I hope it’s no different come Sunday.”
