Midfielder Liv Chance returned to training with the Hoops on Friday after being away on international duty with New Zealand.

Fran Alonso’s side were putting the final preparations together for this afternoon's SWPL League Cup semi-final against Rangers, and Chance is now hoping to get her first experience of the Glasgow derby.

Speaking ahead of the game, she said: “It was a good training session. Obviously Fran and his staff went over how we would like to play and what we’re looking to do this weekend, so it was just finishing up those finer details on Friday. It was a good session and it was nice to be back.

'I’m looking forward to the game. As you come into this team, I think that’s the best fixture, that’s the one you want to be involved in and especially for me, this is going to be my favourite battle that we’re going to have throughout the season, so I’m really looking forward to my first derby.'

“Rangers are a good team and they’ve got good players, so it’s going to be a hard game, and I think that the team which comes out on top is probably the one that’s going to stick to their game-plan and bring that into the game.

“So it’s just about making sure we stick to our plan and we target their weaknesses and hopefully we’ll get the win.”

The midfielder moved to Celtic in August after playing for New Zealand at the Olympics, joining from Australian side, Brisbane Roar. And she’s settling into life in Glasgow, both on and off the park.

“Life in Scotland has been good to me so far,” she said. “I’ve been here for two months now so I’m definitely settling in. It’s a great environment and I’m enjoying my time here. I’d like it to be a bit less rainy and a bit warmer, but other than that, it’s been good!”
