Celtic are looking to make it three Premiership wins in a row when they take on St Johnstone at home this afternoon (Saturday).

Having beaten Aberdeen 2-1 at Pittodrie before the international break and then followed that up with a 2-0 victory over Motherwell at Fir Park last weekend, Ange Postecoglou’s side are aiming to maintain that run and continue their impressive home form against a St Johnstone side that lost 3-0 at home to Livingston last weekend.

But regardless of that surprising result in Perth, the Celtic manager is anticipating a tough test against a side that won both domestic cup competitions last season and finished in the top six.

Speaking ahead of the game, Ange Postecoglou said: “It’s going to be a tough game. They had a fantastic season last year and I followed them through their early European efforts where I thought they were still impressive.

'They’re a difficult team to play against, they make it hard for every opposition they play, so it will be a good test for us.'

“It’s another challenge for us today but being at home at Celtic Park – our form’s been really good this year and the performances have been really good, so we want to continue that.

“But just because we’ve had three good results, we don’t want to just think that we can roll up today and it’ll happen again.

“It’s going to be a good test for us. We want to keep pushing on and developing our football and I expect St Johnstone to make it difficult for us.”

The manager confirmed that everyone came through Tuesday’s Europa League win over Ferencvaros unscathed, while both Josip Juranovic and James McCarthy have been back training with the squad and are available for selection. The only notable absentees from the squad are James Forrest, Chris Jullien and Greg Taylor.
