Since Celtic Football Club was formed in 1887, charity has paved the Celtic Way. Through Celtic FC Foundation’s regular giving initiative – Walfrid’s Wish – we are humbly asking supporters to continue the legacy of Brother Walfrid by becoming a Champion of the Foundation.

You can do this by making a monthly contribution towards the continuation and development of our work challenging poverty.

In the lead-up to the 3.30pm kick-off tomorrow (Tuesday) against Ferencvaros, Foundation volunteers will be located around the stadium, to share Walfrid’s Wish flyers and chat to supporters about how monthly donations have helped in the past and continue to do so.

To mirror the charitable vision of our Founding Father, monies raised through Walfrid’s Wish are devoted to supporting those – primarily on our doorstep but also further afield – who are facing poverty via a number of initiatives, including our partnership with Glasgow North East Foodbank and our Brother Walfrid community lunches.

Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, Walfrid’s Wish donations have supported our work through the Football for Good Fund, assisting those most in need within our communities.
