It was a night when Celtic’s front three all contributed a goal to give the Hoops a 3-2 win over Ferencvaros, an impressive away win that ensures European football at Paradise after Christmas.

Whether that will be the Europa League or Europa Conference League remains to be seen, with two group-stage games still to play, but the second consecutive win over the Hungarian side has ensured that Ange Postecoglou’s side are still in the mix along with Bayer Leverkusen and Real Betis for the top two places.

And, similar to the first clash at Celtic Park, once again Kyogo and Jota were at the heart of Celtic’s attacking prowess, with Liel Abada also contributing a goal and an assist on the night.

If the high point of the 2-0 win over Ferencvaros in Glasgow was Jota’s perfect pass and Kyogo’s exquisite finish for the opening goal, tonight’s 3-2 win in Budapest had several moments vying for attention.

There was Abada’s assist for Kyogo’s second-minute opener, or the Japanese striker repaying the compliment for the Israeli just before the hour mark.

And sandwiched in between those two goals was a stunning strike by Jota, his fourth goal in Celtic colours.

Speaking to Celtic TV after the game, the Portuguese winger was delighted with the goal and the victory.

'It was terrific. We prepared very well for this game and happily we got the win, and now we just have to rest and think about the next game.'

“The coach just said a funny thing. He said, guys just enjoy the next five minutes, because on Sunday we have to go the battle again. So the five minutes have past, now it’s recovery and let’s go to the next one.”

And as for his goal, Jota explained: “I just saw the space inside. I cut back and cut back, and then I had the opportunity to shoot, and it went in, so I’m really happy.

“I just try to do my things and learn as much as I can with all my team-mates and the coach. So things are getting better and better and I just want to keep on.”
