Like the rest of his team-mates, Kristoffer Ajer is determined to ensure Celtic win all of their remaining games this season and the Norwegian defender insists the training camp in Dubai will be instrumental in making that possible.

Neil Lennon’s have just returned from their annual five-day training regime in the United Arab Emirates where the players were put through their paces in the heat to prepare them for the second half of the season.

The winter training trips have been an annual fixture on the calendar for the last five years and this year has been no different as the Hoops look to improve their form in the remaining four months of the campaign.

Ajer reflected on the benefits the team have taken from the camps in recent years and was optimistic this year’s trip would yield plenty of positives in the coming weeks and months.

“It’s always a really good trip,” said Ajer. “We come out here and get some great training in the heat. It gives us the opportunity to be together for five full days and that’s really beneficial for the whole squad.

“Our target is always to push hard here and come back stronger for the second half of the season to win trophies. We’ve done that every single year we’ve been here and we’re doing the exact same thing here this year. We’re training hard, pushing each other and, hopefully, we’ll come back even fitter this year.

'Training in warmer weather is always better for our fitness and it’s something we all enjoy. It’s not easy in the heat, but the whole group pushes each other and we all benefit.'

Two players who continued to impress during the training camp in Dubai were David Turnbull and Ismaila Soro. Ajer has been thoroughly impressed with what he has seen of the pair this season and said the two midfielders brought so much to the team on and off the pitch.

“They’ve been great,” said Ajer. “They’ve been training well since they came in and developing really well. Soro is a great guy around the dressing room, and David has come in and settled into the team right away. It’s been easy for him being a Scottish guy who knows some of the players from the national team. He’s a great lad and to see the two of them perform so well is amazing. I’m really delighted for both of them.”
