Neil Lennon said Celtic are focused only on themselves as they prepare to build on their current form when they face Ross County in the Highlands on Sunday night (February 21).

Celtic travel to Dingwall tomorrow (Saturday) ahead of their Scottish Premiership encounter with Ross County and Neil Lennon will expect his players to extend current their five-game winning streak.

Ross County’s game against Hibernian last weekend was postponed due to adverse weather conditions, meaning the Staggies will have not played in two weeks when they welcome Celtic on Sunday night.

Neil Lennon said he expected Celtic’s opponents to be extra motivated to pick up points but added his side were only focused on what they were going there to do.

“Ross County haven’t played for a couple of weeks and have lost ground on the teams around them so I’m sure they’ll be highly motivated to get some kind of positive result,” said Neil Lennon. “John will want to put his own stamp on things as he goes along. Ross County had a good season last year and, for whatever reason, they’ve struggled to find the same sort of form as last year.

David Turnbull’s goal on Wednesday night helped Celtic to a 1-0 win against Aberdeen in Glasgow. Aberdeen improved in the second half and prevented Celtic from dominating in the way they had in the first 45 minutes. Neil Lennon was pleased with portions of the game but the Celtic manager outlined where he expected his side to improve in the upcoming game.

“We’ve played pretty well recently. We came off it a little bit in the second half against Aberdeen in terms of our quality and intensity to play. Over the last month or so things have been looking a little bit better. It’s important we go up to Ross County, keep the confidence going and keep the level of performance very high. All we’re thinking about at the minute is taking it one game at a time.

“We played ever so well for 30 or 40 minutes on Wednesday night. I thought we looked leggy in the second half. With the extra day of preparation, hopefully, the lads will recovery and put in another good performance.

“We’re just looking forward to the games now and keeping that winning form and performance going between now and the end of the season.”
