‘Back home, Christmas is summer time and we are on a beach. So that whole Christmas feel of winter, the cold, the Christmas tree, it’s something we are looking forward to as a family because we have two young ones and they are super excited.’

‘Scottish is different to English, so I’m having to learn a new language… Greg Taylor is so funny. I couldn’t understand one word that he said. Every time he speaks it’s unbelievable. I had to pay so much attention during my first few weeks and I had to keep asking him to repeat himself. It’s just the way he is, he’s a character for sure. He’s always trying to do something funny to the boys. He’s such a nice guy, but I would say he’s definitely the funniest guy in the team.’

JOE HART

‘The older I’ve got, the more I appreciate The Rolling Stones. The song Sympathy for the Devil – I really enjoy that tune. It’s got a great build-up and threatens to get going but never does, and that song really plays with you. You don’t really quite know what’s coming next, or what the point of it is, to be honest, but I really like that tune.’

JACKIE McNAMARA

‘In doing the book, I wanted to put things across in my career and my life. Obviously, people have a perception of you and they think they know you because they’ve seen you playing football or standing at the side of the pitch, but I think my book covers everything in life rather than just on the football field.’

MARÍA ÓLAFSDÓTTIR GROS

‘It’s been my dream since I’ve been about 10 – I’ve wanted to be an architect, and a footballer. I want to do both. It’s going to be quite hard but that’s what I want to do, so I’m going to do it. I really just want to draw houses and build them and make something on my own. I’ve loved it ever since I was 10 when I discovered it.’

KATHLEEN McGOVERN

‘My favourite would have to be The Celtic Song – hearing ‘It’s a Grand Old Team to play for…’ is great. I quite like the new Abada song – the Scooter tune that everybody’s singing, but if I had to choose just one, it would be The Celtic Song. I’m always singing along when we’re at home and they start playing the song – me and Craigy (Chloe Craig) are always singing the Celtic songs to each other, and it’s a great feeling as a Celtic fan.’

SHEBAHN AHERNE

‘It was nerve-wracking because it was my first time at Celtic TV and there’s a lot of pressure on you. I’m a Celtic fan, born into a Celtic family, and all of my family were watching Celtic that day and they were really excited about that for me. So, for me, it was such a big deal and I think I added pressure to myself that way. So I enjoyed it, and I think if I was to do it again I would be 10 times better just from having that one-time learning experience of having been there.’

BOSUN LAWAL

‘When you look at the players who have come through the Youth Academy, that was a key factor in me signing. Celtic bring a lot of Academy players through the system who then break into the first team. I hope that can be me, but I don’t really look too far into the future, I just do my thing and when the time comes, I just want to take it.’

OWEN MOFFAT

‘I was thinking about this ever since I got the questions through, and the film I would probably choose would be In The Name of the Father, which is a brilliant movie. That’s one of my favourites. It’s an older film, but it’s really good. I think I watched it for the first time when I was 13 or 14, and it’s really educational as well because it is based on a true story. And my family like it too.’

SINA THEIL

‘Wherever I go, the hat’s always there and so is the guitar, so I did play a few songs which was great – a little rendition of You’ll Never Walk Alone, a bit of Grace, The Fields of Athenry, of course. There’s also a song which I wrote a little while back which was inspired by You’ll Never Walk Alone, and that statement and sense of unity and family within the Celtic Family – as they say, it’s more than a club and that’s so, so true.’

PATRICK HARKINS

‘There was a whole load of Scottish boys in the film (Being Human) who were playing raiders in Neolithic times who capture Robin Williams when he’s a caveman, and some of the boys taught him ‘The Celtic Song’ as well. So Robin knew The Celtic Song and he would sing it!’
