Juranovic made his Celtic debut back at the end of August in a Glasgow derby defeat at Ibrox. More used to playing at right-back, Juranovic played that match at left-back, and that’s where he’s played the majority of his games in the green and white Hoops since then.

And regardless of what position he is asked to play, the defender’s focus remains the same – to do his best to help the team win.

“For now it’s going well,” he said. “We play so many games that, in my head, I’m now a left-back! – but just for now.

“It’s a little different because now I’m looking over my right shoulder, but when I’m right-back I’m looking over my left shoulder, but the most important thing is that we’re playing well. We’ve got really good players and really good staff too – and if we continue like that, we can achieve our goals.

“In the first game against Rangers, I had 120 touches, which is unbelievable for full-backs but I’m really enjoying it.

'We are fully confident but we just go day by day and take it game by game – that’s the way we can improve ourselves. First it’s Hearts and then it’s Dundee United.'

“We’ve looked at some videos of Hearts and they’ve played well in a 3-4-3. We want to play even better than our last game, we want to improve, we want to keep growing as a team and if we want to achieve our goals, we must play attacking football, scoring goals and defending well.

“Every building has little steps, and if you want to get to the top you must reach every step, and because of that, we support each other.

“We have three games in seven days – with only one day when we’re all together as the full squad on the training ground, but even if we played four games in five days, for me it’s good because I love it and I like to play football.”

Juranovic scored his first goal for Celtic in the 4-3 away defeat to Real Betis in the Europa League, scoring from the penalty spot, and he repeated the feat back in October against St Johnstone.

He scored again last week, in the 3-2 defeat to Bayer Leverkusen, showing great nerve and confidence to convert the spot-kick with a ‘Panenka-style’ penalty which went in off the crossbar. He won’t say what he will do should he get another spot-kick.

“We will see when we get the next penalty,” he said, “but like I said before, I was talking with Joe Hart and said that for my next penalty I would take a ‘Panenka’ and I kept my word.”
