The Celtic B team are back in Lowland League action this Saturday when they take on Dalbeattie Star at the Penny Cars Stadium, Airdrie (KO: 3pm).

The Hoops are in a good run of form at the moment, and are unbeaten in their last seven games. Their most recent fixture was on Tuesday night when they fought out a 1-1 draw with Civil Service Strollers, with both goals coming in the last few minutes of the match.

And manager Tommy McIntyre is hoping his young side can get a positive result against a side who are currently fourth in the table, three points ahead of the Hoops, albeit they’ve played a game more.

“I thought we played well against a really good, really tough Civil Service Strollers side who have beaten most of the teams they’ve played,” he said. “I thought we defended really well and the goal we got was exceptional.

“Dalbeattie Star will be another tough game. It’s at our home ground, so we’ll take a lot from the midweek game and then move on to the next game on Saturday.”
