CELTIC FC Women produced a superb display of Friday night football as they delivered a 6-2 victory over Hibernian in the capital.

It was only three weeks ago the Ghirls ran out 10-0 winners against Hearts at the Oriam. This time, Fran Alonso's side hammered home six goals past the green half of Edinburgh at Ainslie Park to continue their winning run, with the goals coming from Jodie Bartle, Lisa Robertson, Natalie Ross, Summer Green and a brace from Anita.

Celtic went ahead with their first real chance of the game in the 12th minute and it was a noteworthy one for Jodie Bartle. After being denied by the referee's whistle last week in the Glasgow derby, she finally got her first goal for the Hoops after she nodded in a perfectly-delivered corner by Natalie Ross.

It was double delight three minutes later for Fran Alonso's side as Rachel Donaldson won the ball high up the pitch before sliding through Anita who superbly chipped Sophie Allison in goal, to make it 2-0 for Celtic.

The home side managed to get back into the game through Rachel Boyle who pegged one back from the penalty spot on 20 minutes. Ross fouled Adams and the referee had no hesitation in pointing to the spot. Boyle stepped up and stroked it past Chloe Logan, who conceded her first goal since the opening weekend against Glasgow City.

Sarah Ewens looked to get on the scoresheet to further Celtic's advantage after she cut in from the right hand side, drifted past the Hibs defence but her low show was tipped wide by Allison. But it was 3-1 for the Celts on 36 minutes, with Anita once again on target. Summer Green drove forward into the Hibs penalty box and unleashed a low shot on goal which was parried to the feet of Anita who tapped it in.

Celtic were running rampant in the capital once again. Ross played the ball left to former Hibee, Lisa Robertson, who fired home an unstoppable shot from 35 yards, a stunning first goal for Celtic since moving earlier in the year.

And the Hoops made it 5-1 just before half-time when Summer Green chipped a long ball forward over the heads of the Hibernian defence to Natalie Ross who then ran on to the ball and stroked finished into bottom corner.

Hibernian came out in the second half hoping to put their worrying display in the first period behind them and they managed to reduce the deficit through Charlotte Potts after Celtic failed to clear a corner.

But just three minutes later Green played a lovely one-two with Natalie Ross before unleashing a powerful strike to make it 6-2 for Celtic, who completely controlled the game from then on.

Celtic now head into the international break after winning four of their opening five games. They will face Forfar Farmington at K-Park on Sunday, December 6.
