Neil Lennon has been pleased with the positive atmosphere in training this week ahead of tomorrow night’s Europa League game against Lille as he revealed he would look to freshen the team up to help manage the upcoming fixtures.

Celtic will close off their European campaign at Paradise on Thursday night against Ligue 1 side Lille, who they drew 2-2 with in France.

The Scottish champions come into the game off the back of a 1-1 draw against St Johnstone in the league but Neil Lennon has been pleased with how his players have responded to the result.

Speaking to the media from Lennoxtown, the Celtic manager said the squad are determined to improve on the recent run of results and are working hard in training to achieve that. He said:

'The atmosphere was good today and the players are looking forward to the game. We all want the same thing. We want success and we want the team playing the sort of vibrant football that we know they can.'

"We aren’t unaware that results, and certainly performances, have to be better. The players are aware of that and we want them to go out and express themselves a lot more than they have done in their domestic games. In Milan, they were breathtaking in the first 20 minutes, so it’s not as if we can’t replicate that performance over and over again. They’ve got that in them.

“The atmosphere in the team is vibrant so we need to find that gap between the training performances, the motivation in the dressing room, which is high, and then stepping out on to the pitch.”

With Celtic unable to qualify for the group, Neil Lennon said he would give other players in the squad the chance to contribute to help ensure the team are best-placed for an important league game against Kilmarnock this Sunday.

“We’ll look to use the squad in some aspects tomorrow to freshen things up a little bit and keep players fresh for the weekend as well,” he said. “Hopefully, it’ll be the start of a good week and a good run. We’ll endeavour to do everything we can to turn things around.

"Nir Bitton’s carrying a knock, as is Elhamed and Ntcham, so they’re all major doubts for tomorrow. We’re looking at Klimala, Turnbull and Soro getting game-time. It’s ideal to give them an opportunity to play.”
