NEIL Lennon is anticipating a tough test from Ross County tomorrow this weekend, but the Celtic manager added his side was looking good after returning from the international break and were eager to get going again.

The champions return to action in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow (Saturday) with a trip to the Highlands to face Ross County.

The Celtic players reunited earlier this week at Lennoxtown for training following the back-to-back international fixtures.

Neil Lennon gave a positive update on the shape of his squad after the games and said he was now looking for them to find a level of consistency during the upcoming run of fixtures.

“There are no fresh injury worries,” said the manager when addressing the media at Lennoxtown this afternoon (Friday). “Nir Bitton is feeling a bit sore on the knees and that’s being assessed as we speak. Everyone’s returned and, apart from that, Mikey Johnston is more of a long-term casualty. Tom Rogic started training today and Griffiths is doing fitness work and hopefully available for the upcoming games.

“I don’t think we’ve hit top form yet and that’s understandable because it’s been stop-start. I’m pleased in the main. The sore one is losing out on the Champions League but, overall, I’ve been pretty satisfied. Now we want to get into a block of games ahead of the next international break and find our consistency.”

Celtic have five league games and a Europa League qualifier to play before the next international break in October, starting with Ross County tomorrow.

Neil Lennon said he was prepared for a difficult game against Stuart Kettlewell’s side but added Celtic are looking strong since returning to training earlier in the week.

“Out of their six games, they’ve won two, drawn two and lost two,” said the manager. “They’re a very stable club, they play really good football at times and we’re going up there at a good time of the year because the weather can be difficult later on in the season.

“It’s important to impose ourselves on the opposition. As a club, they’re very well run and as a team, they play good football. They can be a threat at set plays and we are aware of their threats. In Ross Stewart, they have a very good player at this level and he can be a handful at any time.

“We know we’re going to get tested but we’ve had a very good couple of days of training. The squad is buoyant and we’re looking forward to the game.”
