“We know that we have a good team and we know the talent we have, so to have quality opponents is good for us, to be ready for the championship and the games that we target in the next few months.

“It’s always great to be back in my country. Sadly, it’s not in Paris right now, and my family’s not close, but just to be here, to have the weather here and, of course, to play football, is always a pleasure.

“The week in Loughborough, we definitely worked hard in training every day. The staff and all the coaches did a great job. Now that we’ve got games, we put everything on the field and see what’s going to happen.”

Celtic’s French defender could find himself up against his fellow countryman and former Hoops striker, Moussa Dembele, tonight, with the 24-year-old striker a key member of the Lyon squad.

And with Rudi Garcia’s squad using these games as preparation for the second leg of their UEFA Champions League last 16 tie against Juventus next month, Jullien knows it will be a tough game tonight.

“We know they have some really good players, so we’ll just wait and see how it’s going to be on the field,” he said. “It’s going to be a good game for us and for them, so I think they’re definitely going to be ready.”

And as for the Paris Saint-Germain game, which comes just three days before their Coupe De France Final against St Etienne next Friday, July 24 in the Stade de France, the Hoops defender know he and his team-mates will be facing one of Europe’s top sides.

“We know that PSG have probably one of the best eleven in the world, so it’s good for us,” Jullien added. We’ll see what will happen on the field, but we should just be happy and enjoy it.”
