A PRODUCT of the club’s prolific Youth Academy, Callum McGregor understands the significance of the season ahead more than most.

Winning the league title would see Neil Lennon’s men become the first team to win 10 consecutive championships in Scottish league history, and the 27-year-old midfielder is proud to be a part of Celtic at such an important and historic juncture of its history.

Since debuting in the senior side in 2014, McGregor has won every domestic campaign he’s played in and his no plans to halt that record any time soon. In turn, he hopes to celebrate with the Paradise faithful once more come the end of the 2020/21 trail.

“The supporters can be proud of the team that’s on the pitch and proud of their club, and I certainly know that when you’re playing in front of our fans, it’s just an incredible feeling,” said McGregor in an exclusive interview with the Celtic View 9 in-a-row special.

“We’ve got a great relationship with everyone within the club and towards the supporters, and the supporters back to the players. It seems to be a really special time for the club at the minute and it’s something that I know the boys are extremely proud of.

“We will enjoy it, we’ve absolutely earned it and all the hard work that’s gone into the season – you’ve got to celebrate it as well, as best as we can.

“But the boys are just desperate now to get back on the pitch and train and be together again, and that will just fuel the motivation to go again next season and finish the job.”
