ANOTHER season, another raft of hugely important goals in green and white for the Hoops’ French hitman Odsonne Edouard.
With 28 goals and 17 assists to name this campaign, the 22-year-old striker’s stats speak for themselves, but to judge him on numbers alone would be overlooking everything else he brings to every game in which he plays.

His strength and power on and off the ball, for example, is incredible, allowing him to hold up play and allow team-mates such as Ryan Christie, Callum McGregor, James Forrest and Olivier Ntcham to overlap in the final third.

His vision and lightning-fast decision making helps the Hoops move the ball forward, and his close-control is unparalleled in Scotland – a feat made all the more impressive against his size and stature.

Netting twice in the Treble Treble-clinching Scottish Cup final of 2019 was a measure of his steely nerve, but his opener at Ibrox in September arguably required a cooler head still, and his celebration thereafter was perfect.

While it was Christopher Jullien’s goal and Ryan Christie’s free-kick assist that sunk Rangers in this season’s League Cup final, it was Edouard who won the vital set-piece, just minutes after coming on.

Odsonne Edouard is the complete package and has taken his game to new levels with each passing season. He was an integral part of last year’s treble success, and has played an even bigger role in this season’s impressive campaign.
