Ryan Christie was the hat-trick hero on Flag Day as Neil Lennon’s side beat St Johnstone 7-0 on the opening day of the 2019/20 Premiership campaign. The pick of the bunch was also the one which completed his hat-trick and came in the significant 67th minute of the match. Gathering the ball in the inside-right position on the edge of the box, Christie moved the ball across to Mikey Johnston, who quickly returned it to Christie. He took a touch and then, from the edge of the ‘D’, he fired an unstoppable left-foot shot into the top left-hand corner of Zander Clark’s net. Game, set and matchball to Ryan Christie!

Ryan Christie: ‘The gaffer has told me to shoot on sight if I get the chance, which I’m delighted to hear. I was upset to blaze one over the bar early on against St Johnstone, but I’m delighted to have scored a hat-trick after that.’
