NEIL Lennon said his Manager of the Month award was a reflection of his team's impressive performances and called on the players to build on that form when they come up against St Mirren tomorrow (Saturday).

Celtic have been in excellent form in 2020, and their results throughout February have helped them build up a lead at the top of the league, which now sits at 13 points. Neil Lennon said the Ladbrokes Premiership Manager of the Month Award was more about how his players have performed and added he hoped they would continue their impressive run of results.

“It’s a measure of the good month we’ve had and that’s down to the players really,” said the Hoops manager. “They’ve been magnificent and really consistent, so it’s for them for their performances more than anything I’ve done. While it’s great, we still have a bit of work to do. We’re in a good place at the minute and we just want to keep the run going for as long as we can.

“They’ve been playing superbly and are in a semi-final as well so we have that to look forward to. Our league form has been fantastic and on Wednesday night that was the first two points we’ve dropped since the turn of the year.”

Celtic will look to extend their unbeaten domestic run in 2020 against Jim Goodwin’s St Mirren side tomorrow. The Saints currently sit 10th in the league, just two points off the relegation play-off place, and Neil Lennon is anticipating a tough game.

“I think Jim’s improved them,” said Neil Lennon. “He’s been going 4-4-2 of late. Whether he goes like that tomorrow, I don’t know, but we’re concentrating on our own run at the minute.

“I’m expecting St Mirren to be difficult to break down at times but I’m hoping we can do that. I want a front-foot performance from us and for us to play aggressively. We were aggressive on Wednesday night and I thought we played very well and deserved better out of the game.”
