THE Scottish champions host FC Copenhagen at Paradise tomorrow night (Thursday) in the second leg of their UEFA Europa League last 32 tie. With the aggregate scoreline tied at 1-1, Christopher Jullien expects a well-contested match in Glasgow, but is confident a focused Celtic side can prevail.

The 26-year-old likewise looks forward to the positive atmosphere the home support can generate, and the positive effect this can have on himself and his peers on the pitch.

“We’re feeling good,” said the central defender. “We’ve worked hard since the beginning of the competition, every game has been tough but we’ve shown our strength on the field. We’ve got a good mentality which I think is reflected in our momentum at the moment.

“The first half last week was really good and we had a number of chances. It was a fast game, and when we scored, that was a good moment.

“That first half was perfect, we want to be focused and do the same tomorrow. It’s huge that the second leg is at Celtic Park. The atmosphere is unbelievable and I’m sure that will be important tomorrow night.”

Despite Celtic's comprehensive first-half performance in last week’s first leg, Jullien praised FC Copenhagen for the way they approached the second period, getting themselves level and putting Neil Lennon's men under pressure.

To this end, Jullien said it’s up to the home side to overcome the visitors’ confidence, to remain focused and to progress to the tournament’s knockout round of 16. In doing so, he'll give his all - for himself, his team-mates, and a manager whose faith he's determined to continue repaying.

He added: “Since I’ve entered the starting XI, I’ve always tried to give my best. Every game in the league, the cup, Europe, I try to give everything that I can.

“Since I joined Celtic, I’ve been impressed with the gaffer – not just as a manager but also a person. The fact that I’m the player I am today is down to him. He’s helped my confidence and he’s perfect for this club and for me myself.

“We’ll put our full focus into winning the game tomorrow. For me, it is the biggest game of my career so far. Playing in Europe was a personal goal of mine for a long time. Playing in Europe with this club, to go through to the next stage, that would be unbelievable.”
