NEIL Lennon said Celtic’s current form has instilled confidence going into tomorrow night’s (Thursday) Europa League game against FC Copenhagen but insisted his side were taking nothing for granted.

Celtic arrived in the Danish capital this evening (Wednesday) ahead of their last 32 first-leg tie against FC Copenhagen tomorrow night.

The Scottish champions come into the game off the back of nine consecutive wins and will look to carry that form into the first leg against the Danish champions in the hope of taking an advantage back to Glasgow in two weeks.

Neil Lennon said performances from his side in the second half of the season have boosted Celtic’s confidence for their European campaign and left them determined to progress further in the competition.

"We're in good form," said the Hoops boss. "We had a fantastic, very difficult, win at the weekend that has set us up for this game. The amount of goals we're scoring, the consistency of performance, level of performance, individual performance and the fitness levels are very good as well."

"I think the players are looking forward to the occasion and want to make inroads in the competition if they can. Our away form in Europe has been very good but that was the first half of the season, hopefully we can take that into the second half of the season as well."

“Our confidence is good. I am not taking anything for granted but we are looking forward to the game. The stadium is magnificent, I have just been out looking at, the pitch has been re-laid and looks good and I think the players when they get here will get very excited about the game.”

"We can use both systems, we are comfortable with both and we have a fair idea of how we want to play tomorrow."

Neil Lennon made clear that Celtic’s confidence would be balanced with an expectation that they face a difficult challenge in getting past Copenhagen and progressing to the next round.

"I expect a difficult game, tactically they're smart. You have to be very mindful of Copenhagen's danger men. They put the ball in the box a lot and they get good width from the full-backs as well.

"They've come out of their group very strongly with some quality teams like Dinamo Kiev and Lugano so you can't underestimate Copenhagen.

“They’re a strong side and they have goals in them. Getting an away goal would be fantastic and, of course, we'll be aiming for to take to Glasgow.”

The Celtic manager also gave an update on the fitness of some of his players.

"Hatem Elhamed hasn’t travelled and Greg Taylor picked up an injury at weekend. Leigh Griffiths picked up an injury in training. It’s a slight twinge. I'm hoping the latter two will be fit for the weekend."
