AFTER marking his 700th competitive club appearance, Scott Brown said he has no plans to stop anytime soon and added his focus was on only continuing the champions' strong run of form tomorrow night (Wednesday) against Motherwell.

Brown reached the 700-game milestone - which includes his time with Hibernian at the start of his career - on Sunday as Celtic extended their lead at the top of the Scottish Premiership with a 4-1 away win over Hamilton Accies.

The Celtic captain is delighted with the achievement and insists he has plenty more to give at the top level before he thinks of hanging up his boots.

“Hopefully I’ll get 701 and then I’ll just take it from there,” said the 34-year-old. “It’s a great milestone to reach. I’ve enjoyed every single moment of it. I didn’t even know it was my 700th until after the game.

“I’m enjoying playing football. I’m as fit as I have been for a long while. Brendan changed a few things and Neil’s come in and made sure I can keep ticking over.

“That’s the way you have to go, especially as you get older you’re playing catch-up with all the younger ones. You need to be prepared to play all the games here. We’ll have over 60 games again this season, so it’s about maintaining your body and making sure you recover from the games.”

After recovering from Sunday’s win, Brown and the rest of the squad finalised their preparations today (Tuesday) for tomorrow’s league game against Motherwell at Fir Park.

The Celtic skipper said the busy schedule of two games a week is something the team thrived on, and added they are ready for a difficult game against a good Motherwell side.

“We just worry about one game at a time,” he said. “There's an excellent bunch of lads in the dressing room, we thrive off the games and look forward to them. We have Motherwell tomorrow and we look forward to playing these kind of games.

“Motherwell always attack and squeeze the park well. They have a good players and a good manager so it’s always a hard place to go to.”
