HAMILTON play host to the Hoops at New Douglas Park this weekend, and Neil Lennon wants to make it five out of five for Celtic in 2020.

Sunday’s Scottish Premiership encounter follows Wednesday’s confident 3-0 away win over St Johnstone, but despite his side’s recent run of fine form, the Irishman expects a tough encounter with the Accies on the road.

“We had a last-gasp winner at home the last time we played, and we won 1-0 at New Douglas Park before that,” said the manager. “We have to be on our game. Hamilton do a great job every year, it’s a difficult venue with the pitch, but we have good momentum to keep going."

Speaking of Wednesday’s night game, Neil Lennon hailed the first half-hour when Celtic scored three goals without reply, and likewise praised the flourishing striking partnership of Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths.

The manager also singled out Greg Taylor’s performance against the Saints on the left flank, and said he’s confident in his players’ intelligence and adaptability when it comes to playing in different formations game-to-game.

He added: “Wednesday night was so pleasing and we were breathtaking at times. It was fantastic to watch and I don’t think anyone can have complaints with that performance. We played with zest, quality, we had a great attitude and we scored goals.

“There are going to be ups and downs along the way, Sunday will be a different game psychologically. In terms of where we are physically, I’m very happy. We’ve had a few injuries. we’ll need to see how Mikey is, but he could be out for longer than we’d like. Elyounoussi will come back into training on Saturday, but Sunday will be too soon for him.

“The players are intelligent and familiar enough with the formations we’ve used. The fixture schedule doesn’t give us a lot of time to work on bigger areas at training, but it’s then about rest and recovery so that everyone is available and ready to come and play.”
