AFTER overcoming Kilmarnock at Rugby Park on Wednesday night, Scott Brown described the 3-1 win as huge for the Scottish champions in their quest for more silverware.

Victory on a difficult playing surface marked a great return to league competition for Neil Lennon’s men, who now turn their attention to Saturday’s clash with Ross County at Paradise.

Speaking to the media at Lennoxtown, Brown said: “For us, we just concentrate on our own game and worry about the next game we have ahead of us.

“Each time, we work out how we’re going to play against a specific side, we might change our shape, our philosophy, and that’s up to the backroom staff and the guys in there to work that out.

“We always relish the challenge to win more trophies, and we want to win every single game. That’s always our aim. The Kilmarnock game was a good win and a good performance overall, and we probably could have had a few more goals as well. That’d maybe have made it a little bit nicer, but it was a huge three points, and we’re happy with that.”

Brown, now in his 13th season at Celtic, said his own desire to win every single game is stronger than ever, and to have the likes of Leigh Griffiths back among the goals, and Odsonne Edouard enjoying a fine vein of form, serves to push him further still.

Griffiths and Edouard both led the line from the off against Partick Thistle and Kilmarnock, and linked up well in the final third throughout both matches.

Brown added: “I signed for Celtic to win trophies and to play in the Champions League and the Europa League. I’ve managed to do that so far, but I’ve still got that desire to win every single game and to try and learn as much as I possibly before I eventually do retire.

“Everyone knows that whenever Leigh gets the ball, there’s a good chance that he can score a goal. He’s showed that already over two games, and he just needs to make sure he maintains that level. He and Odsonne have had some good link-up play as well, which has been great. Overall, the Kilmarnock win was a great team performance.

“We all know how good Odsonne is, and he shows it in pretty much every game now. His touch and the quality of his goal is exceptional. Nobody can do that in the Scottish Premiership, not that I’ve seen for a long, long time. He’s great to play with, his link-up play, he’s always adding extra things to his game as well. It’s good for us that’s he’s hitting form at the right time as well.”
