NEIL Lennon hailed his players to a man following tonight’s (Wednesday) 3-1 win over Kilmarnock at Rugby Park, praising their attitude as well as their performance.

“It was an outstanding performance,” the Irishman told Celtic TV. “I don’t think I’ve seen us come and create as many chances as we have done in such a while on a difficult surface.

“We scored three great goals, we’re disappointed with the one we conceded, but overall, I thought we were magnificent. The attitude of the team was very, very impressive tonight.”

Neil Lennon praised goalscorers Odsonne Edouard and Leigh Griffiths individually and collectively, having both started up top for the Hoops tonight and against Partick Thistle last Saturday.

The manager was also delighted with the contributions of Scott Brown, Callum McGregor and Olivier Ntcham, all of who he described as stalwarts in the Scottish champions’ midfield.

He added: “Odsonne is a great player and he was really in the mood tonight. Jerry did superbly well, he got a bit of a deflection on the cross, and then Odsonne’s reacted superbly well before being so cool with the finish. I’m so happy for him. It’s another goal, that’s what we want out of him, but also thought his work-rate tonight was excellent.

“Odsonne and Leigh combining up front were really good. We haven’t seen that work quite as well before as we did tonight. There was a good understanding between the two of them, especially in the second half, and we looked very dangerous.

“Ntcham was magnificent, although I’ve given him a bit of stick as I think his shooting tonight was nearly as bad as mine at times tonight! Mikey Johnston had a great individual chance, Callum had a chance in the first half – so we’re creating good chances, and the overall balance in the team and attitude and quality of the play was superb against Kilmarnock.”
