CELTIC returned to league action and produced a superb display at Paradise to beat Livingston 4-0, courtesy of goals from Odsonne Edouard, Scott Brown and a double from James Forrest.

Neil Lennon’s side were impressive throughout the 90 minutes and there was much for the Celtic fans to enjoy as the Hoops strengthened their position at the top of the Premiership table.

Here, we look at five quick-fire talking points from Celtic’s fine display against Livingston.

A GRAND OLD TEAM TO PLAY FOUR!
Okay, so it might not be the greatest heading, but it was certainly a great performance by Neil Lennon’s side against the only team to have beaten them domestically this season. Odsonne Edouard opened the scoring with an exquisite left-foot finish in the first-half before Scott Brown got in on the scoring act after the break. James Forrest scored two as the Hoops cruised to victory. The win opens up a three-point gap at the top of the table before Sunday’s fixtures.

FRIMPONG ON FIRE
This is looking like it will be a weekly category in the ‘Quick-Fire’ section, given how impressively the young Dutch defender is performing for the Hoops. This was only the sixth senior game for the 18-year-old, but it was also his sixth superb showing for the Hoops. His energy was boundless, his creativity was exciting and his all-round contribution to the team thoroughly merited the Man of the Match Award. He was also unlucky not to get a goal for his endeavours, but it was a brilliant display from the hugely-talented right-back.

CAPTAIN MARVEL
Making his 551st appearance for Celtic, Scott Brown controlled the game in the heart of the midfield, and also got a goal when he fired home a shot from the edge of the area which ended up in the back of the net with the aid of a deflection. The Celtic captain is a key player for Neil Lennon’s side, and once again proved his worth with an exceptional display, leading by example and driving the team forward while also providing defensive cover when required.

SUPER SUB
Celtic scored four goals and produced some superb football throughout the game, but the biggest cheer of the day came in the 68th minute when Leigh Griffiths came on as a substitute for Odsonne Edouard. It was the striker’s first appearance since the end of August and it was great to see him back in the Hoops. He even came close to marking his return with a goal, but it will only be a matter of time before he does add to the 107 goals he’s already scored for Celtic.

HOMEGROWN HERO
On a day when his biography, Homegrown Hero, was released, James Forrest celebrated with two goals. The first was a stunning volley from 12 yards out, hitting it first-time on the drop and showing great technique to execute the shot. And then, in added time, he latched on to a Ryan Christie pass before slotting the ball into the back of the net to make it 4-0 for the Hoops.
