NEIL Lennon said Celtic must pick up from where they left off before the international break and said his side would not falter against Livingston when they meet them at Paradise tomorrow (Saturday).

Celtic will look to avenge their only loss in the league this season when they face Livingston tomorrow. The two sides met in the final game before the previous international break when the champions were unable to take anything from their trip to Almondvale.

Neil Lennon praised his players for the way they have reacted to the 2-0 loss at Livingston and said his side must continue their current level of performance against a difficult opponent.

“I’d like to think we’ll be on the ascendancy in the game,” said the Hoops manager. “The reaction since that result has been superb. The football we’ve played and the results we’ve had have been outstanding. The quality of performance and the level of intent has been excellent.

“All teams subconsciously raise their level when they play us. I don’t think it’s a deliberate thing. Everyone wants to play their best against Celtic and pit their wits against the best players and the best teams.

“I did it myself when I was at Leicester. Subconsciously I’d raise my game when we went to play Manchester United or Arsenal.

“Livingston played really strongly in the last game. We’ll expect that again tomorrow, but we’ll be ready for them. We want to pick that up as quickly as we can as we go into this huge volume of games now. We’re very motivated to win the game with what’s ahead of us.”

The manager revealed Leigh Griffiths could play a part in tomorrow’s game after the Scotland striker scored a brace in the reserves' 6-0 win over Stenhousemuir on Tuesday.

“Leigh will be involved with the squad this weekend,” he said. “He had an hour on Tuesday and looked good, so he’ll be in and around it now. He’s happy and he needs to stay there now. Not only stay there but improve his condition bit by bit.

“I’ve seen enough now to know he’ll make a contribution in the 11 games between now and the end of the year. We will be using the squad and he’s a part of that.”

Neil Lennon also gave an update on the recent injuries to Mohamed Elyounoussi and Hatem Abd Elhamed.

“Hatem has an abductor strain, so he’ll be another couple of weeks,” said the Irishman. “With Mo, it’s a case of rest and hopefully he’ll be back within the next week to 10 days.”
