CELTIC made it a clean sweep of Glasgow derby victories this season, as a magnificent 3-0 win in a dominant display at the home of their rivals saw the Hoops win the third and final meeting of the year.

Second-half goals from Sarah Ewens, Josephine Giard and Kat Smart sent Celtic flying towards another derby victory as they produced a silky display that bettered Rangers for the third time this season, as the 3-0 victory followed on from 4-1 and 3-1 wining scorelines earlier this season.

The feat marks the first time since 2016 that the Celts have held a 100 per cent record over their Glasgow rivals, setting them up nicely for the visit of champions, Glasgow City, to K-Park this coming Sunday.

Eddie Wolecki Black’s side could have gone 1-0 up within the opening two minutes, as Giard hit a shot just over, and two minutes later, Celtic appeared to have the ball over the line in a stramash in the box, but the referee blew for a foul on Khym Ramsay in goal.

Despite controlling the game, the Hoops went into the break level at 0-0.

Celtic’s dominance on the ball was finally rewarded just two minutes into the second half. Another blistering start from the Hoops immediately put Rangers on the back foot as the Celts broke up the park. Kathleen McGovern was challenged in the box, but the ball landed at Ewens feet, and the striker made no mistake in blasting home.

Just five minutes later, the Hoops went close again as Kelly Clark rose highest to meet an Emma Black free-kick, but the flag was raised. However, in the 58th minute, Giard doubled the advantage with a brilliant low drive as she also grabbed her second against Rangers this season.

Celtic were further rewarded as they found net for a third time to seal the three derby points, as a beautifully-placed chip into the area from Natalie Ross found Smart, who stayed composed and drove towards goal for her first league goal for the club.

After a fruitful return to action bringing eight goals and two clean sheets, Celtic are now eagerly awaiting the visit of Glasgow City this weekend.
