CHRISTOPHER Jullien said his last-gasp winner against Lazio at Paradise was the most cherished of his career to date, with the Frenchman sending Paradise into raptures. The 2-1 victory keeps Celtic top of their Europa League group after three games, and Jullien believes it's a fully-deserved position.

Neil Lennon's side went toe-to-toe with the Italians, and despite conceding a first-half goal, second-half strikers from Ryan Christie and Jullien gave the Hoops another memorable European win.

“It’s the best goal of my career because it came during a big European night and it really counted,” said Jullien after the game. “Sometimes the goals I scored while playing in France didn’t come in a win so they didn’t count for much in the end. After all the hard work the rest of the team put it, to get that goal and secure the win means so much to me.

“I’ve been close to scoring recently with a couple of headers, and before every game a team-mate or staff member would tell me I would score. They’d say they trusted me and to keep doing what I was doing because it would come eventually.

“Odsonne was the first one to say something after the goal. He was joking with me the day before the game saying that I never score despite them creating so much space!”

The win means Celtic have made it two wins from two at home, and they now have seven points out of a possible nine. Next up is a trip to Rome to face Lazio again, but Jullien believes that if the team continue to show the same hard work and character in their remaining fixtures, they will reap the rewards.

“We’ve worked hard to be in this position in the group now and we’ve shown a lot of character in each of the games to get those points,” said the 26-year-old. “I’m not surprised to see us with seven points and I’m really happy with how things are going.

"There are three games left so we can’t relax. We have some difficult away games and we need to compete to our best in those if we are to continue to get these kind of wins.”
