JAMES Forrest has enjoyed every minute of his Celtic career so far, and has also been enjoying looking back on some great memories ahead of the release of his biography, Homegrown Hero.

The Hoops winger is currently in the midst of his 10th season in the Celtic first-team where he has made more than 360 first-team appearances since making his debut back in 2010, when he marked the occasion with a goal against Motherwell.

With almost 10 years’ worth of incredible memories to draw on, Forrest will reflect on his incredible career in a new biography ‘Homegrown Hero’ which will be released on December 3.

The humble Celtic winger has done the majority of his talking on the pitch and admitted he was initially hesitant to release a book.

“The club came to me and I wasn’t really wanting to do it at first, but I spoke to my family and they said it would be a good thing, so they talked me into doing it,” Forrest explained. "I wasn’t too keen on doing it at first but it’s really positive and being at such a big club for my 10th season is incredible.

“Even just talking about the last few years, different games and different experiences has been really good.

“It’s crazy how quickly time’s gone. I’ve enjoyed every minute, and from the Youth Academy right the way to the first-team has been unbelievable. I want to stay here as long as I can and keep playing in this team because it’s a great club to be at and I’ve enjoyed every minute of it.”

Forrest spoke of how important Neil Lennon has been on his career, given that it was the Irishman who gave him his top-team debut over nine years ago.

“When I was playing 19s and Neil was the Reserve manager he did loads for me then,” he said. “When he stepped up to the first-team I was still a young boy and he gave me my debut. I just want to keep repaying him for the faith he showed in me.

“It was good for the young players to have him as a manager because you know how good a career he had and how big a character he was at Celtic. For young players, and especially for ones that are maybe a wee bit quieter like myself, it helped to have someone with such an aura about them.

“You’re coming through at Celtic and it’s a massive club playing in the Champions League, and if you’re doing well with Celtic it helps you get games at international level as well. It’s unbelievable and there’s a pressure to stay there because you never feel too comfortable at any stage. It keeps you on your toes and it’s really exciting.

“I want to play for as long as I can and I want to be at Celtic as long as I can. I know football can but I’m going to keep working hard to be here.”
