NEIL Lennon is enjoying watching his Celtic team play, with the Hoops having scored 51 competitive goals so far this season. The latest batch came in the midweek 5-0 victory over Partick Thistle in the League Cup quarter-final, and now they head through to Edinburgh to take on Hibernian this weekend.

The Champions have a perfect league record so far this season, with six wins on the bounce and they’ll be aiming to make it seven-in-a-row with a victory at Easter Road.

And the manager is looking for his side to keep the momentum going. Speaking ahead of Saturday’s game, Neil Lennon said: “We want to keep the performances at a good level and with winning results, which isn’t always an easy thing to do.

“The players are playing well and I was delighted with what I saw on Wednesday and I’ve been very happy with our league form at the minute - it couldn’t be any better really.

“I’m delighted with the quality of the chances we are creating against teams that are stubborn and well-organised. It’s not an easy thing to do, but I want that fluidity to our play constantly.

“We’re playing with good intensity at the minute, both on and off the ball, and it’s important we maintain that standard as the season goes on.

“There may be a dip here and there, but we are taking our chances very well, and there’s a clinical element about the way we’re playing and that comes from confidence as well.

“We’ve got pace in the team, we’ve got quality In the team but it’s very early days. We aren’t even out of September yet and I know how quickly things can flip, negatively and positively, so we’re just keeping a perspective on things.”

The Hoops boss made eight changes to his starting XI for the midweek cup-tie, and is set to make changes again for the game against Hibernian.

With a strong squad, there is good competition for places, and the Irishman stressed that with a busy schedule of fixtures across several fronts, all of his players will be expected to play their part as and when required.

“It’s important that players don’t get disappointed,” he said. “They know there’s going to be rotation. This is a big week again, with Hibs on Saturday, Cluj on Thursday and then Livingston away next weekend. So the players know they will play a part in that.”

Moritz Bauer, who missed out on the match against Partick Thistle with an ankle knock, returns to the squad. The Celtic manager also confirmed that Leigh Griffiths is still out, while Nir Bitton and Mikey Johnston are due to resume training on Monday. And Jozo Simunovic is set to be out for the next three to four months.
