THIS season, the Celtic View has been catching up with the players to discover some of their interests away from the game. Here's a taster of what the official club magazine has to offer, with Celtic Women’s player, Kat Smart’s 'Tic-Fire Questions' from this week’s issue...

Most memorable tournament you remember watching when you were younger?
It would have to be France ’98 – the last time Scotland were involved in the World Cup and the first time we got a decent win. I was in Canada watching it, and half the room was French and the other half was Scottish. So, that’s the one that stands out.

What do you listen to on your way to training?
It’s usually Sarah Ewen’s Spotify playing, so you never know what is going to come on. She has a very ‘interesting’ taste in music – it’s been noted that she has the worst musical taste in the team! So we blame Sarah for the bad music.

Favourite holiday destination?
I would probably go back to Dubai, that’s like my second home. So I’d like to get back there surrounded by my home comforts

Favourite TV shows?
I really like How To Get Away With Murder, that’s probably the one that sort of sticks out.

Favourite movies?
The original Lion King – no, don’t put that in, that’s going to be really bad! (It’s in!) I’ll go for Hide And Seek with Robert De Niro and Dakota Fanning, which is a good thriller.

Favourite cuisine?
I like a good steak, but it has to be chopped up.

Food you love but can’t eat because of diet?
Not really, as I’m not a massive fan of fast food. I genuinely like eating healthily and I would choose something like a salad over fast food any day of the week.

Advice you’d give your younger self?
Just to keep your eyes open and make sure that any opportunities that come along, you take them, regardless of how terrifying it might seem. Just go for it as you are the creator of your own destiny.

Favourite skill away from football?
I was a pro-Alpine skier and was in the Scottish national team, so that would be it.

Player from past generations you’d like to play alongside?
I’ve already played alongside Diego Maradona. He was in Dubai at the same time I was and his fiancée played in the same team as me. So he would come along to some of our matches. He would give us some feedback, in broken English, on how to play. So being in the presence of him was pretty good.

Kat Smart and her Celtic team-mates are in action this Sunday, September 29 in a league game away to Spartans. The league match, at Ainslie Park in Edinburgh, kicks off at 1pm.
