CELTIC head to Easter Road this Saturday determined to take all three points and maintain their 100 per cent start to the Premiership campaign.

Neil Lennon’s side have maximum points from their first six league fixtures, the most recent of which was the 3-1 win over Kilmarnock last weekend.

And while they face a Hibernian side currently second-bottom of the table, Paul Heckingbottom’s side got a midweek confidence-boost with their League Cup quarter-final win over Kilmarnock, which sets up a semi-final showdown with cup holders, Celtic.

For Boli Bolingoli, he’s hoping to return to the starting XI, having been rested in midweek, but he also knows the benefits of having a strong squad, given the fixture demands put on the team.

“As a football player you love to play a lot of games,” he said, “but it is also important to have a big squad with a lot of quality players, which we have. You can see from the last game that the coach changed a few players to give some of the other players a chance, and it was good for them.

“We are all one team, and the players who played against Partick Thistle are important for us, and it was important we won the game. The coach changed a lot of players because he believes in the whole squad and it’s important that other players get the opportunity to show the coach what they can do.”

The Belgian defender was one of several new faces brought to club during the transfer window, and he believes all of the additions to the Celtic squad have settled in well at the club.

And he knows that training every day with a top-quality squad can only improve his own game.

“For the new players, you needed to be quick mentally to adapt to the team and I think we did quite well, with the likes of Hatem and Christopher Jullien, and Moritz last weekend,” he said. “It’s good to have players like this who can adapt quickly in a new team, so you can see defensively that we are just getting better and better. And, offensively, we have a lot of qualities and we want to continue like this.

“When you’re a good player, it doesn’t matter if there are five new players or if you’re the only one. If you have the quality, you can adapt to every situation, so I think, as you see, it didn’t take very long for the players to settle in.

“We’ll keep doing our best, continue working hard in every game and, hopefully, we can reach our goals.

“When I arrived here, there were already a lot of quality players at the club and that does help. I think I’ve improved already but I’m trying to improve every day. Every training session I’m working hard and I want to become a better player here at Celtic.

“I’m just trying to prove to the manager in every game that I want to be the first-choice. Every player wants to do that and you can see at training that every player is motivated.”
