THIS season, the Celtic View has been catching up with the players to discover some of their interests away from the game. Here's a taster of what the official club magazine has to offer, with Mikey Johnston’s 'Tic-Fire Questions' from earlier this season...

Most memorable tournament you remember watching when you were younger?
The one that Germany won is probably the World Cup I remember most. That was Brazil 2014. The South Africa tournament was good as well but the Brazil World Cup stands out in my mind because I was rooting for Lionel Messi the whole time and Argentina got to the final. It was frustrating to see Messi lose in the final, but it was a good tournament overall.

What do you listen to on your way to training?
I listen to a lot of rap but I like change it up as well. I like Gerry Cinnamon. It just depends on how I feel that day. I play the guitar so I’ll listen to Oasis too. I’ve got a Fender acoustic. A couple of my pals play so I’ll try and pick stuff up from them. I’m alright at it but not great. It’s just a good hobby to have.

Favourite holiday destination?
I’d say Florida. I like amusement parks. I’ve been to all the amusement parks out there. Bush Gardens is probably the best but Universal is really good too. I was in Cancun this summer with my girlfriend. That was really good, it was hot and there was loads of tuff to do.

Favourite TV shows?
Game of Thrones. I’ve not finished it yet and my friends are always trying to ruin it for me but they haven’t spoiled much so far. I watched ‘When they See Us’ on Netflix recently and that was good. When we’re at the hotel before games we have a lot of time, so I’ll usually stick a series on.

Favourite movies?
Saving Private Ryan is one of my favourites. The Shawshank Redemption is up there too.

Favourite cuisine?
I love Italian food. More pasta than pizza, I’m not a massive pizza fan. If I’m going out, I’d usually go to a steakhouse, though.

Food you love but can’t eat because of diet?
I suppose carbonara isn’t healthy as it has a lot of fat in it.

Last video game you played?
I was playing NBA recently with some of the boys while we were away on pre-season. It’s hard but it’s really good. I like Fortnite as well.

Advice you’d give your younger self?
I’d probably tell myself to stay confident and focused. Don’t allow yourself to get too high or too low because there’s always going to be ups and downs when you’re chasing a dream.

Favourite skill away from football?
I’m not that good at guitar but I’m quite sporty. I’m good at ping-pong which we all play. I’d say I’m top three out of the boys in the team. I’ll play snooker with my pals as well, although they’re probably better than me.

Player from past generations you’d like to play alongside?
I think Andres Iniesta is still playing but I’d love to have played with him. Ronaldinho as well. I love flair players and players who play like that.
