HAVING secured a place in the group stages of the UEFA Europa League with an impressive 6-1 aggregate win over Swedish champions, AIK, Celtic now turn their attentions back to the Premiership and the first Glasgow derby of the season.

Neil Lennon’s side have won their opening three league fixtures, scoring 15 goals in the process, and they travel to Ibrox for Sunday’s game full of confidence, to face a Rangers side who have also won their first three games.

Mohamed Elyounoussi, who signed for the Hoops on Friday night, is looking forward to the fixture, and believes that his new team-mates can maintain their 100 per cent start to the league campaign.

Speaking at Lennoxtown today, the 25-year-old Norwegian internationalist said, “It’s a huge game, and one of the biggest derbies in Europe. So I’m looking forward to either being part of it or watching it.

“I’ve just finished my first training session, so that would be the gaffer’s decision whether I’m part of the squad or not. It would be a huge challenge to come in here and be part of that straight away, but I’m looking forward to the whole experience.

“I’ve played some derbies before but I don’t think there’s anything like this one. I expect it will be a tough game, but it’s a game we can win.”

The attacker, who has joined the Hoops on a season-long loan from Southampton, is also relishing the prospect of experiencing European night at Paradise as a Celtic player, having previously played and scored at Paradise for Norwegian side, Molde.

“Our group looks tough but the squad is really strong here and I think we can do something great in the Europa League,” he said. “Those European nights are something I want to be part of. I was here four years ago with Molde and the atmosphere at Celtic Park was amazing, and it’s something I want to be part of again.”

And as for the type of player the Celtic fans can expect to see, Elyounoussi said: “I like to play in between the lines, in the pockets, either as a left winger or as a No.10. I like to get the ball, be creative, and create or score goals.

“We have a lot of players here at Celtic who can do that already, and I want to just try to bring in what I can do as well, and make an impact on the game.”
