Josh Clarke
Josh Clarke signed from Glenavon FC in the summer of 2022.
The Northern Irish internationalist joined the Hoops on a two-year deal, where he will work closely with the team’s goalkeeping coach, Colin Meldrum.
Clarke had spells as a youngster at Chelsea and Bournemouth before making the move to Glenavon on a short-term deal.
Born in England with Irish and Swedish heritage, Josh previously represented Sweden u16s, England u17s and Republic of Ireland u18s before his first senior call-up to the Northern Ireland squad earlier this year.
Last campaign, the shot-stopper became a consistent start between the sticks, pulling off a number of impressive saves and starting moves from the back.
The 19-year-old spent a very brief spell out on loan, joining Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians on an emergency loan, which saw him featured for the Diamonds against Dunfermline Athletic.
During the 2022/23 campaign, Clarke played a major part in the Celts' Glasgow Cup success, saving four spot-kicks in the penalty shootout triumph over Rangers at Ibrox.
In August 2023, he went on a one-game emergency loan to Scottish Championship side Airdrieonians. This move came after a goalkeeping crisis hit the club. He immediately made his debut aginst Dunfermline Athletic before returning to Celtic.
The imposing keeper then joined Ayr United in February 2024 on loan until the end of the season, going on to make 20 appearances for the Scottish Championship side.
