Adam Montgomery
Adam Montgomery signed his first professional contract with Celtic FC in July 2019.
During his spell with the U15 squad, Adam scored the winner as the young Hoops triumphed in the prestigious Foyle Cup with a 1-0 victory over Derry Colts in the final.
The talented yongster progressed to the reserves from the club’s Under-17s.
Montgomery started out as forward at the club before being moved into defence by coach Darren O'Dea, and that paid off in February 2021 when the youngster extended his contract to 2025.
And that paid off even further a few months later when, as an 18-year-old, Montgomery made his first-team debut on May 12, 2021 when he started in a 4-0 win over St Johnstone, and three days later he also came off the bench at Easter Road against Hibernian.
The pacey defender has gained valuable experience through a series of loan spells. In January 2022, he joined Aberdeen until the end of the 2021–22 season making seven appearances.
He then signed for League One club Fleetwood Town on a season-long loan deal in July 2023 featuring three times for the first-team. Before a spell at Motherwell in the second half of the 2023–24 season, was cut short returning after suffering a serious injury during a training session.
The Academy graduate, went on to enjoy a successful spell at Queen's Park. Joining in February for the rest of the season, he quickly became a key figure in Callum Davidson's team during their memorable Scottish Cup run.
